Amid ongoing global financial uncertainty, the mobile media industry in 2010 once again proved itself to be a sector marked by sustained growth and innovation.

MEF’s 7th Business Confidence Index Report in association with KPMG revealed that the industry expects to grow by 23% during 2011, demonstrating the continued robustness of this valuable segment of the mobile market.

Another similar view is simply that the digital world is now multi-browser, multi-platform and multi-device. Recent research states that one in eight British people shopped from their mobile this Christmas to avoid the rush in stores. Forrester predicts that mobile marketing spend will grow 37% annually until 2011 and research from the US shows that a growing band of consumers now expect retailers to have mobile sites that can be navigated from their smartphones...

Key areas of interest include:

  1. M-Commerce - increasing sales and transaction on mobile devices destined for 2011
  2. Mobile social gaming becoming deminant channel
  3. Mobile should be part of any multiple platform approach to sales and marketing
  4. Overall increase in revenue generation for this channel
